I founded Volunteer Ventures MA Inc. (VVMA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity to “build community through service” and engage volunteers of all ages in service projects which have meaningful and direct impact on the lives of vulnerable community members. VVMA organizes a variety service experiences, including food production (soup jars, lasagnas, banana breads) for delivery to food pantries, homeless and domestic violence shelters; hands-on building projects (desks, bookshelves, accessible picnic tables); home repair/rebuilding and environmental restoration in the wake of natural disasters (Boston, New Orleans, Houston, NY, NJ); and more. Rooted in my experience as a teacher and given my expertise in carpentry, VVMA brings together these two personal passions with my dedication to volunteerism and community service. I take great joy in healing the world through volunteer engagement and helping people – especially youth and teens - build muscles of service.

Director, TELEM: Jewish Youth Making a Difference Together

Directed and managed service-learning programs which engaged teens and youth in communitybased nonprofits to offer meaningful service experiences. Service included intergenerational activities, literacy support to young learners, advocacy on social justice issues, and support services for un-housed persons. Responsible for community relationship building, program design, staff supervision, budget management, fundraising, and training. Led collaborative efforts with other Jewish professional educators to launch new initiatives. Planned, developed, and led domestic youth service trips. TELEM was permanently closed in July 2020 due to COVID.

Hired and supervised teaching personnel at this accredited Chapter 766 Special Education day school providing comprehensive wraparound services for teen students. Established curriculum guidelines and courses for 40 students on 502.5 Special Education (IEP) plans. Developed training programs for staff and served as liaison for local public school systems.
